Ortega’s peers admire her ability to confidently navigate business affairs—a critical skill for the executive who oversees all business and legal affairs at CMT. This year, her role increased to also include management of West Coast business and legal affairs for MTV and VH1, rendering her the only on-level member of Viacom’s legal team to touch all three music networks. At CMT, the year’s highlights include her work on shows including the annual “CMT Music Awards” and long-running “CMT Crossroads” series. Ortega also closed deals on new shows “Redneck Island” and “Dog and Beth: On the Hunt,” CMT’s top current series.
