Under Ball’s leadership, Univision has been effectively positioned as a critical partner for distributors. Of late she was instrumental in the launch of Univision programming on Netflix, coupled with a robust multiplatform marketing campaign that included Univision’s TV networks, radio, digital and social media platforms as well as beloved Hispanic personalities. She also led the new educational campaign about TVE around the 2015 Gold Cup. “There is nothing more gratifying than helping someone get to the next level in their career,” she says. “Mentoring is also a two-way street.”

What’s the most important aspect of mentoring?‎

There is nothing more gratifying than helping someone get to the next level in their career.  Mentoring is also a two-way street.  I learn from the mentees as well. Mentoring is a rewarding exchange of knowledge and information from one generation to the next.

What/who inspires you at work? What/who inspires you outside the office?

My team inspires me at work.  Every single one of them is creative in his or her own way. Collectively, my team teaches me how to be better at my job. Outside of work it’s my dad. He’s still going strong in his journalism career in his mid-70’s. Plus, he’s really cool. He plays the harmonica with a Brooklyn band.

Your favorite trick for unwinding?

Yoga and red wine—in moderation, of course.
