Best Advice in 7 Words or Less: Life is short—make every day count.
Why Him? Motorola is in the throes of one of the most evolutionary, read: frenetic, periods in the company’s history. Fortunately Moloney has an iron constitution. In just the first nine months of 2011, he and his senior management team formed newly independent company Motorola Mobility Inc, launched a host of new consumer devices and generated the interest of a little company by the name of Google. Moloney, of course, is wooing operators evolving to IP-based technology with gusto, making the coming year one to watch as the maze of applications, bandwidth, rights management, content management and cloud technology unfolds.
Patent-Mania: Under Moloney’s leadership, MMI has built an intellectual property portfolio including 1,900 patents focusing on multimedia, home gateways, content mobility and security.
Year Ahead: Moloney is on a roll. We’re expecting at least one big operator deal.

The one thing I tell my kids about success in life: Success is a journey, not a destination
