More Movies, TV For RIM PlayBook
Rovi Entertainment Store, Rovi’s end-to-end, white-label solution for entertainment storefront creation and management, now is powering the new “Video Store” movie service on the BlackBerry PlayBook tablet.
Announced today at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Video Store first will be available with BlackBerry PlayBook OS 2.0 in the United States, with other countries launching later this year. Using the app, subscribers can peruse a catalog of films and TV shows, including new releases available for purchase or rent on the same day as they come out on DVD or Blu-ray Disc. Content can be watched on the tablet’s ?high-resolution display or on an HDTV using the PlayBook’s HDMI output.

More about the Rovi Entertainment Store: Retailers, service providers, consumer-electronics manufacturers, content owners and PC makers can use the Store to launch?over-the-top storefronts that let consumers discover, purchase, manage and watch new movies and TV shows on multiple platforms and devices.
The Store includes white-label storefronts and playback client SDKs and cloud services as well as content licensing, management, and marketing services. ?
