Comcast Deal Ramps Technology Park Services
A partnership with Comcast gives the Philadelphia Technology Park, a data center for colocation located in the Philadelphia Navy Yard, access to the MSO’s private optical network and to its fiber footprint to provide new and enhanced services.
Aussie Company Added To AFL Fold
S.C.-based cabling and equipment maker AFL just purchased Optimal Cable Services, a manufacturer of fiber-optic cable and a provider of connectivity products based in Melbourne, Australia, for an undisclosed price. Optimal manufactures uni-tube, stranded loose tube, armored loose tube, high count loose tube, riser and all-dielectric self-supporting cables in addition to composite, cords and ancillary products. Optimal also provides patchcords, pigtails, connectors, adaptors, tooling, test equipment and media converters. The company’s HQ will remain in Australia.
C Spire Wireless Personalizes With Diameter
Texas-based C Spire Wireless is using Tekelec’s Diameter signaling router to deliver personalized services on its LTE network. The DSR routes the policy, charging, roaming, authorization, authentication and mobility management messages that enable mobile data services; these messages communicate using the Diameter protocol.
JDA Offerings Power Liberty’s Back Office
Liberty Global Inc., a cableco operating in 13 countries, now is using a number of JDA solutions, including JDA Fulfillment, JDA Demand, JDA Demand Classification, JDA Collaborate and JDA Cloud Perform. “This is just the start of the supply-chain initiative Liberty Global is undertaking and JDA’s total supply-chain footprint will provide the platform for that growth,” notes Anita Arts, vice president/Global Supply Chain at Liberty Global. JDA consulting and implementation alliance member Capgemini will be involved with the delivery and implementation of the JDA solutions.
