Ericsson is adding 4K and HEVC features to its Mediaroom TVE platform. The new Mediaroom client for ARM-based system-on-a-chip (SoC) set-top boxes will be available in the 2nd half of 2015. The company will also offer Mediaroom Reach, a service born out of the company’s acquisition of Azuki Systems earlier this year. The service seeks to enable quick and cost-efficient deployment of OTT video to any device.
